Need cool Pinoy themes for your painting inspiration?!

So you always wanted to create an artwork
inspired by Filipino Myths and Legends,
but couldn't find the right one?

Or, you have one in mind,
but it's has been made in so many versions already
that coming up with something original
has become difficult?

Thanks to Paolo's efforts over at the rocket kapre website, you can check out an extensive (and yet browser-friendly) list of Mythical Deities.

The List includes quick descriptions of their roles and their locale/ ethnic group of origin.

Be sure to read up and make further studies on any character you wish to draw, because knowing more about them will allow you to make a better, more accurate representation of the Character.. yes, yes, even if you want to make your own rendition, it is of course always desirable, more believable, and more powerful depiction of the character, if you have a good basis to build upon!

Best of all, these may probably be the 'most complete' (relatively speaking hehehe) lists you'll see online!

You bet these links contain other names & stories you wouldn't find in our school textbooks! Maybe the lists will help you find a different god or goddess that you can draw, something uncommon and new!

OH BY THE WAY apparently, if you come up with artworks for these gods/tales, you could drop a message at the website (or through here if you wish ) and if it's good enough, it could be included in the database (linked & credited to you of course). It's a good way of getting your art out there, useful and SEEN!
